Black Diamond Field: Film Makers
Sarah and Maximilla formed their production company in 2003 in an effort to
bring vulnerability and humanity to independent filmaking. Their first film
"Kill Your Darlings" was completed in 2004. As a female collaborative
their work has been shown at Deitch Project, Beyond Baroque, Nuke, Team Rad,
Paper Magazine, The Nines and Dickbreath. They are currently working on their
next short film.
Sarah Sophie Flicker:
Director, Writer, Actor
Born in Copenhagen Denmark, Sarah moved to the United States at age seven. She
has been active in theater, film, dance, writing, photography.... for as long
as she can remember. Sarah has worked as an actress with such director's as Vincent
Gallo, Jesse Peretz, Roman Coppolla, E. Elias Merhige, Ondie Timoner, Rachel Samuels,
Hana Ogawa and countless others. She has collaberated on film and theater projects
with Exene Cervenka at The Getty Museum in Los Angeles, Susanna Howe on a film
in post-production, Jesse Peretz , Zaldy and Chelsea Bacon. Her photography has
been shown at Beyond Baroque, The Lab, The Nines and in magazines such as Nuke,
Hustler and Paper. As a writer she has been published in Paper Magazine, Nuke,
City, Dickbreath, among others. Sarah is currently working with Chelsea Bacon
in New York on trapeze and aerialist theater projects. She is also currently writing
a feature length screenplay.
Maximilla Lukacs: Director, Cinematographer, Editor
Born in Budapest Hungary, Maximilla also moved to the United States at age seven.
Her longtime love of the arts has lead her on a journey form art school(The San
Francisco Art Institute), to graphic artist, to editor, to photography and finally
directing. Maximilla has edited work for Raymond Pettibon, Vincent Gallo, MTV,
The Discovery Channel, Mark Borthwyck among others. She has edited a feature length
documentary for the photographic collaborative Tourniquet, a feature length DVD
for the musician Cat Power and numerous music videos ranging from Gogol Bordello
to The Civil War (her own band). Maximilla is currently the editor of the magazine
"Dickbreath", an artist produced porno magazine for girls, that is produced
in collaboration with New York based fashion designers Pleasure Principle. She
is also currently working on the next short film with Sarah.
